Postcards from the Edge.

In the midst of all the other seventy six things I had to get done today, I found a little time to work on two different postcards. I'm submitting one to Uppercase Magazine and one to the Benevolent Postcard Society. Since this is my first foray into collage, please don't judge me too hard. It's also the first time I've used Mod Podge (I've never claimed to be a crafter).

The finished products.

Yesterday, I received a lovely Paper Pack from Three Potato Four full of interesting and fun paper artifacts. Still, I wasn't ready to part with any of the fabulous paper ephemera so soon for these postcards. I'm reserving them for future projects. By the way, if you are a stamp collector (ahem, little miss Lipstick on Your Teeth), get this pack! There were some really f-ing cool stamps in there. There will most definitely be a project revolving around them. In fact, I found some free frames that are just screaming to house them.

Too much paper goodness.

Checking Boxes.

I'm at home taking a personal day (or as I like to call it, a mental health day) from the 9-to-5. In reality, it's become a "make a lofty checklist and see how many things I can actually get done" day. So, I'm planning to peel myself away from this device I'm constantly tethered to (aka my MacBook) so I can start checking my little boxes. It's a good day to sit inside and get stuff done since summer went into hiding and it's currently fifty four f-ing degrees outside. If I'm extremely productive, I just might reward myself with a peach caprese salad and a glass of prosecco this evening. Yum!

In the meantime, here's some stuff that's making my head explode:

El Fin de la Semana.

Oh, San Francisco weekends, how I love thee! Let me count the ways:
  • a great refresher Photography 101 class via The ART Weekend and the amazing Nicole Hill Gerulat (with a sneak peak into Ferney Art Studio)
  • the funky odds and ends at the annual Alamo Square Flea Market
  • paint chip shopping for the desk rehab
  • relaxing plush papaya pedicure at Zen Day Spa
  • afternoon shopping with $50 gift certificate on a great date dress at Doe, the quintessential SF boutique
  • shrimp taco, chips and guacamole washed down with our favorite margaritas at Puerto Alegre to fuel us up for the long night ahead
  • a late night at Root Division playing artist assistant (and ruining a pair of skinny jeans in the meantime...but you are not to blame for that SF) with the hubby
  • brunch at Bar Jules with a divine meal of fried eggs and skirt steak atop white beans served with a salsa verde and grilled bread. Um, yum.
  • an "only in SF" hula hooper convention in Hayes Green
  • dessert tour of Hayes Valley with stops at Paulette Macarons, Christopher Elbow Chocolates and Miette Confiserie
  • an endless supply of eye candy to photograph
  • two straight days of flirty skirt wearing weather

Tick Tock Tick Tock.

Hmmm...could my current obsession with clocks have anything to do with the fact that I feel I am constantly losing a race against time? All sources point to yes.
